Kanapaha Botanical Gardens is a 68-acre botanical garden filled with spectacular and rare plants and flowers. It’s home to the state’s largest public display of bamboos and the largest herb garden in the Southeast. Through the facility, there are many trails and walkways, and leashed dogs are welcome.
Depot Park is a fantastic outdoor area that features airfields, trails, a play area, and a splash pad. Bring your well-behaved canine along, walk around the pond, have a picnic in the pavilion, attend events, or watch for wildlife.

Here at Sweetwater Branch Inn, we’re happy to offer pet-friendly cottages. Our cottages will give you plenty of room for you and your favorite four-legged friend, our gardens are great for morning walks, and we always have a special treat waiting for new furry friends when they arrive. Plus, we’re located within walking distance of downtown Gainesville, the University of Florida, and other walking trails.
We require a $75 non-refundable pet fee for your pet(s); we allow no more than two pets per room and ask that you bring dog crates and use them if you leave your pet behind for a bit. We’re also happy to offer doggy daycares in the area.
