What to Expect at the Butterfly Rainforest in Gainesville

The Exhibit

This 6,400-square-foot screened in butterfly exhibit is part of the Florida Museum of Natural History in Gainesville. It has a population of over 1,000 butterflies which consists of at least 50 different species. The museum aims to diversify the butterflies by bringing them in from all around the world, just for you to see! But, although this is a butterfly museum, you can also expect to see many other animals throughout the exhibit.

As butterflies dance through the air, you’ll also see colorful birds taking flight through the trees. On land, look out for happy turtles also enjoying the serene environment, and in the water, you’ll also find fish gliding peacefully.
